PRODUCTS I USE
These are the products that I've found really valuable to have with me on trails. All of these are items that I personally have used and continue to use. These are in no particular order.
*Note: none of these are paid endorsements, they're just products I love. I'll be reaching out to these companies and seeing if they would be willing to offer a discount code. If so, I'll add them below! Some of the links are affiliate links, but that doesn't affect the price in any way!
B&W Trailer Hitches
I have the B&W turnover ball which is a kit that sits underneath my truck bed. It's rated to 30,000lbs and I have put a B&W in every truck I've owned. Personally, I won't use any other brand.
Silky Katanaboy Trail Saw
I had the Katanaboy 650 when I was out on trail, but I think the 500 would be the perfect size for packing. These things cut wood like a hot knife through butter.
Supracor Saddle Pad
I was so hesitant to try this pad when I was first told about it, but it turned out to be an absolute gamechanger out on trail. The honeycomb design was able to disperse weight better so I had none of the saddle related issues on my second ride that I experienced on my first.
MSR Hubba Tour 2
This was the tent that I used on my BNT pack trip when I had a pack horse. It has a gear canopy so I was able to store all my tack inside the storage section while also still having room to spread out in the sleeping area. I reached out to MSR and they said this model has been discontinued, however they have a separate gear shed which is super similar
Big Agnes Copper Spur 2 Platinum
This was the tent I switched to when I started single horse packing with Thelma. You need to be careful when you zip it so that the fabric doesn't get caught in the zip, but it had plenty of room for me and my gear and was super light
Enlightened Equipment 20 degree Quilt
I've tried a few different sleeping bags in my time, but Enlightened Equipment was by far the best in terms of weight, how compact it is and warmth. Sleeping in a quilt does take a little getting used to because of the open back, but it's so worth it.
Klymit Insulated Static V
I tried to go the cheap route initially with sleeping pads and it just wasn't worth it. Aside from the cheaper options getting holes in them way easier, the biggest difference was that when I got my Klymit, I was a lot warmer - the insulation is a huge factor that I didn't give enough credit to initially
Sea to Summit Folding Bucket
This bucket has been super handy when traveling in the backcountry. It packs down to a tiny size, has been super durable and weighs next to nothing. It also hold it's shape fairly well when full and doesn't collapse on itself.
Salomon Soft Flask
I don't know what else to say aside from the fact that these things are magic. I have many and I use them constantly.
Salomon Agile 12 Backpack
The backpack I used has now unfortunately been discontinued, but it was absolutely perfect - light and durable. If you can find a second hand one I would highly recommend getting it. I think the Cross 12 would be the closest to it, I've linked it below!
Salomon Speedcross Trail Runners
When I had a pack horse and was able to pack some luxury items, I always took these, and they're my go-to for all hiking (my rule is that if I expect my horses to climb a mountain I need to be able to do it too). Can't recommend them enough for grip on rocky trails
Slick EZ Brush
This is a little more random and now something I take on trail, but I always have one (or two) in my trailer. These are crazy good with helping shed out winter coats!
Dometic CFX3 75DZ
This has been an absolute game changer when it comes to being in my trailer - I don't have a fridge, so this cooler has allowed me to be able to have fresh food with me instead of having to live off freeze dried or long life groceries. I have a battery pack that powers it when I don't have an electrical plug in.
Loopy Case
I attribute my Loopy cases to the reason my videos are so smooth. It's also the reason I still have my phone - that loop has saved me when I've dropped my phone a number of times - including almost over the edge of the Grand Canyon!

Adventure Medical Kit
I always carry a first aid kit for both Thelma and myself. These Adventure Medical Kits have been great for me in that they're super comprehensive and have included items that I would have otherwise forgotten to bring
Sawyer Squeeze
This has been my go-to water filter on trail. The only thing I've found to be an issue is that the bags it comes with can be prone to springing leaks, but Sawyer replaced mine free of charge and the filter also fits onto a normal water bottle so it wasn't really an issue. Other that that I love it!
Ursack Bear Bag
This is what I used to keep my food safe out in the backcountry. I never had to test it out (thankfully), however I wanted to include it to show you what I used. It came highly recommended to me so I thought I'd share!
Roma Miracle Brush
It is what it says to be! I always have multiples of these on hand - they're super light and they get the dirt out that's a lot deeper in the coat. It was brilliant on trail to make sure I was able to really get Thelma clean and avoid any skin issues out on trail.
